Oven Radiator

Radiators could do more than heat a room.  The steam pipes could warm plates, keep food hot for the table, or raise bread dough as was done in 'warming ovens' and 'hot closets'....

Combined Radiator and Heating-oven by Louis C. Rodier, 1885 patent

Rodier's patent for improvements to a steam or hot-water radiator with “a heating-oven in which plates or food may be kept hot until ready for the table” is pictured, below.   A – long loops; B – short loops of a radiator; C – top; D oven with removable shelves to be inserted in the space between the long and short “loops.”
